Trotwood-Madison
High School fans were excited from the start as the Rams took on the #1 state
ranked Cincinnati-Moeller Crusaders. It was one of the largest crowds during
the post season games at UD Arena.
It's
a Four-Peat! 2008 GWOC District 3 winners the Trotwood-Madison Rams High School
varsity basketball team celebrate on the court after the game. Next
game is the regional semi-final against Newark on March
7 at 6:15pm in the Columbus
Expo Center Coliseum.
Both teams played
excellent defensive games and at times about the only way to penetrate the
paint was up and over as demonstrated by Greg Gainey much to the chagrin of
Michael Davenport (32).

Aaron Robinson
'A-Rob' dives for a loose ball but not quick enough giving Moeller a chance
to pick up the pace. Robinson scored half of Trotwood's 18 points in the first
half. Moeller led 20-18.
Rams
Greg Gainey and Dominic Britt (42) wrestle for control of the ball with Tony
Harris in the beginning of the second half.
The
game was all about a well orchestrated defense. Greg Gainey keeps the pressure
on.
There
were some ferocious battles at the basket like this one where the Crusaders
try to stop a Gainey lay-up.

With
the score tied early in the fourth the fans did their best to help the team.
Josef
Marshall gets both of his foul shots. There were plenty of fouls from both teams
as the full court pressure was applied. The Elks racked up 37. Trotwood was
responsible for 30 fouls.
Brad
Cubbie makes a drive around Moeller's Michael Davenport.
With
less than 4 minutes to go the bench lights up as Trotwood holds on to a 39-36
lead.
Michael
Davenport led the Crusaders with 12 points but this three point attempt over
Trotwood's Nate Holloway is not one of them.
Dominic
Britt made 7 of his 8 game points in the second half.
The
Moeller Crusaders see the game starting to slip as Aaron Robinson helps put
Trotwood into the lead. Robinson had 16 points in the game, followed by Brad
Cubbie (10), Greg Gainey (8) and Dominic Britt (8).
Trotwood was
three points ahead with 3 seconds left.
The
Ram bench empties onto the court at the final horn and they rush over to greet
the fans.
The
celebration gets quickly underway.

Hamm takes away the souvenir net. Hamm has taken the team to a district win
again. "Our team was ready." The Rams have won the GWOC title in
2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008.
