Overcast skies and cool rains have Trotwood Ohio farmers watching their corn fields closely. The young 3-week old seedlings (see inset) are a little pale in color due to the weather. Warmer temps expected in 5 days should help. Most farms have not finished planting because of the rains.

Hamvention is in town this weekend. The 57 year old event is at Hara Arena through Sunday afternoon. Ham radio operators from around the world are in town to see the latest and greatest technology and meet the voices they know only by radio.

Trotwood's varsity baseball team took on Troy this week. The Rams had a couple of great hits but Troy's batters were a little better leaving the team with a season ending loss.

 

The media center/library at the new Trotwood-Madison Middle School anchors 3 wings of classrooms. The public is invited to see the new school. A dedication and open house will be Sunday, May 18, 2008 at 2:00pm.

About 60 unusual salt and pepper shakers are part of the display every Sunday from 2-4pm at the Iams Homestead Museum at 349 S Broadway. Admission is free. The Trotwood Madison Historical Society has a large collection of Trotwood memorabilia.
